Door County Jail Mugshots Overview
The official Door County finding is plain: no public mugshot gallery, current-inmate profile with booking photo, or recent-bookings feed was found on the county or sheriff pages reviewed. The Door County Jail page publishes operational information for visitation, mail, money, commissary, JailATM, phone service, and capacity, but it does not expose booking photographs through a searchable public roster.
That does not mean a booking photo never exists. It means Door County jail mugshots are not posted in an official online gallery found during the research pass. A booking photo may be held by the Sheriff's Office as part of a booking record, and it may be requestable under Wisconsin open-records law. Release is not automatic in every case.
What is public: Door County does not publish an official mugshot gallery in the reviewed sources. Booking photos may be requested, but juvenile, investigative, medical, victim, security, or protected personal information can be withheld or redacted.
Where Door County Booking Photos Appear
Start with the official jail page to confirm whether a public roster has been added since the research pass. If no roster is present, call the Door County Jail/Sheriff's Office at 920-746-2400 and ask how to request a booking photograph or booking record. If charges have been filed, WCCA/CCAP can show court events and charges, but it normally does not function as a mugshot source.
- Check the official Door County Jail page first for any new roster or booking-photo instructions.
- Search WCCA/CCAP for filed court charges if the goal is to confirm case status rather than view a photo.
- Call the jail and ask how to request a booking photo or booking record.
- Submit an open-records request to the Sheriff's Office records custodian with the person's full name, DOB if known, booking date, arresting agency, and case number if known.
- Expect possible redaction or denial if Wisconsin law or the balancing test supports withholding.
The Door County Sheriff's Office homepage is the official routing point for sheriff functions tied to custody records and local law-enforcement records.
The sheriff route matters because no separate app or official photo gallery was found for Door County inmate mugshots.
Door County Booking Photo Fields
A public mugshot roster normally pairs a booking photo with fields such as name, booking date, charges, age, sex, race, and bond. Door County's official public pages reviewed did not expose those paired fields online. The table below keeps the distinction clear.
| Field | Door County Public Finding |
|---|---|
| Booking photo | Not published in an official Door County public gallery found in the reviewed sources. |
| Name | Not published through an official live county roster found in this research pass. |
| Booking date/time | May appear in booking records or jail logs, but not exposed through an official public roster found. |
| Charges | Formal charges appear in WCCA/CCAP after filing; booking allegations may differ. |
| Bond | Court bond and conditions may appear in WCCA; local posting instructions are on the county bond page. |
| Status/release | Call the jail or use VINELink if covered; current custody was not searchable through a county roster found. |
Door County Mugshot Public Records
Wisconsin does not have a single official rule found in the research that requires all booking photos to be posted online. Booking photos held by a sheriff can be records under Wis. Stat. 19.35, but release is subject to statutory exceptions, confidentiality rules, and the Wisconsin balancing test. Wis. Stat. 19.36 lists limits that can affect law-enforcement and personal-information records.
Wisconsin open-records rule: A Door County booking photo may be requestable as a public record, but it is not automatically posted online and is not automatically released in every case.
Juvenile records, active investigations, medical information, confidential informants, victim information, security-sensitive jail details, and protected identifiers can change the response. A denial or redaction should cite a legal reason or balancing-test basis.
Door County Mugshot Retention
The research did not locate a Door County rule stating how long booking photos remain public because no official public photo roster was found. If a future official roster appears, the roster policy should control whether a photo disappears after release, after case disposition, or after a set number of hours or days.
For now, the sound route is a dated request to the Sheriff's Office for the specific booking photo or booking record. The request should name the person, date of arrest or booking, arresting agency, and case number if known. That gives the records custodian enough context to search.
Door County Mugshot Removal
If a booking photo appears on an official site, removal depends on the agency's publication policy and the legal status of the case. If a booking photo appears on a commercial third-party site, Door County may not control that publication. Wisconsin expungement under Wis. Stat. 973.015 can affect court-record access for qualifying cases, but it does not guarantee that every non-government copy disappears.
Dismissal, acquittal, expungement, or time passage should not be described as an automatic mugshot removal rule. A person seeking court-record relief should review the case docket and court order first. The Door County court records after arrest page explains the charge and expungement side.
Unofficial Mugshot Sites
Commercial mugshot sites are not official Door County sources. They may be stale, incomplete, duplicated, or paired with outdated case information. They also may not reflect a later dismissal, amended charge, expungement, or correction. Door County records should be checked through the sheriff, jail, WCCA, and the Clerk of Circuit Court instead.
This page does not link to commercial mugshot publishers or pay-to-remove services. The records-oriented route is to confirm custody, check filed court charges, and use a lawful open-records request for the booking photo if it is not online.
Federal and DOC Photos
Federal and immigration systems are different. The BOP inmate locator identifies federal custody and release data, but it does not publish federal mugshots. The ICE detainee locator is not a mugshot gallery. WIDOC profiles may show offender photos when available, but WIDOC is for sentenced state prisoners and supervision records, not current Door County Jail bookings.
For current local custody, start with Door County Jail. For filed charges, use WCCA. For sentenced prison custody, use WIDOC. For federal or immigration detention, use BOP or ICE only when the custody status supports that path.
Photo availability should therefore be read by system. A Door County booking photo, if releasable, is a sheriff record request issue. A DOC photo is part of a state corrections profile when WIDOC publishes one. A federal or immigration locator result is mainly a custody locator and should not be treated as a booking-photo source.
